An Interview with Me!
On Wednesday, December 29th, I had the wonderful opportunity to be a guest on Tiny Tadani’s radio and television show to talk about my book, Wake Up! The Enlightenment of an American Misfit and Outlaw, and discuss being a misfit and outlaw, my transformation and other exciting things happening in 2011. Check out the interview below!

Surrounded by Beauty… Do you see it?
This morning I went for a walk through Waikiki and decided to sit on a bench and read a little bit. Looking out across the ocean, I watched local surfers catching waves and tourists amble about, enjoying the beauty offered by Waikiki Beach Park. I enjoyed it as well. It was early enough to not be surrounded by thousands of people, but late enough that there were plenty of folks to “people watch.”
Most of the folks I saw were smiling, taking pictures of the Duke Kahanamoku statue or getting ready to surf or swim. Some weren’t smiling, so I…
Laughing at Myself
“EEEEEKKKKKK,” I screeched like a four year old preschooler! Unfortunately, it wasn’t the first time that shriek had left my mouth. It happened several times when Diane and I lived in Rochester, NY. Our townhouse, conveniently located downtown, put us in walking distance of many local restaurants and watering holes. That’s why we decided to rent the place. What we didn’t know was that, depending on the season, we would have some unlikely roommates.
I remember the first time I was introduced to one of them; Diane came into my room and woke me up stating, “There’s a bat in…
The Aftermath of Surrender
People often think that “surrender” is a negative or bad word; maybe because they associate it with quitting. I love the word. In fact, I believe it’s extremely powerful. When I talk or write about surrendering, it’s not about giving up or quitting. It’s about surrendering to my choices and giving up the resistance. How many times to we make choices or decisions, only to resist them at every corner?
In my blog from Tuesday, I let go of my “secret,” thus surrendering to my Point A in the realm of broken agreements in my personal finances. As…
Secrets
We all have secrets. There are things about each and every one of us that we don’t want anyone to know. In fact, I bet there are secrets buried so deep within some of us that we’ve consciously forgotten that they’re there. But they’re still there; buried in the subconscious affecting every decision we make. I’ve shared most of my secrets. In fact, I’m not sure that I have any secrets left to tell. Even after sharing my secrets with certain people, I’m still allowing certain ones to have power over me.
The thing about secrets is that they keep…
The Big Bad Wolf
Jason, Keala, Joey and I were sitting around my lanai last night discussing an idea for a workshop. The premise behind the workshop was to support students that had previously attended workshops or personal development classes and raised their awareness, yet were still unsure of themselves and how to proceed with achieving their goals and dreams. We call this being consciously incompetent – meaning you’re aware or conscious of your limiting belief(s), but are struggling with making a shift or change.
As the conversation continued and ideas were thrown around, there was a debate as to the “whos” and “whys.”…
Living Amongst Giants
As my dreams unfold, many people are now seeking out my advice regarding writing books, publishing and how to get started on living their dreams. Most of the time, I’m honored that people are inspired by my actions. Then there are also times when I want to crawl in a hole and tell everyone to leave me alone. The latter times are few and far between, however those feelings exist and I honor them on occasion by not answering my phone or responding to emails (only for a day).
While creating my new path, sometimes impatience gets the best of…
