You are the Architect of Your Life
Haterade
It was another gorgeous morning in Waikiki. The sun was brightly shining with a fairly strong breeze blowing down the street and into my home/office/compound/magic-making headquarters. After filling a cup with my morning brew, I sat down to get some work done. I was delighted to see an email from an adoring fan in my inbox. I always am. There’s no better way to start the day than by reading how something I wrote impacted a person (all kidding aside, receiving those messages is an awesome gift).
While reading the email some words popped out at me; like “moron,” “fool,”…
Blame it on the Rain
What a day! It’s only 10:41 AM and I’ve already been on a roller coaster. Cursing the Universe because it’s obviously against me today, it started out well enough. I rolled over, saw Diane and the dogs still in bed and noticed the clock said 8:00 AM. After a couple adventurous days, I figured Diane wanted to sleep in.
We both arose and leashed the dogs for their morning stroll; normally a task Diane embarks on alone. I decided to join them, stopping by the local ABC store to plug my body with its necessary fix. That’s where it started.…
Drinking Bourbon as a Spiritual Practice
Who’d of guessed that sipping cocktails can lead to enlightenment? Well I always thought so; however that could have been simply to justify the amount of cocktails I consume. I’m just kidding of course. I only consume them once or twice a week. Maybe three or four times a week. Who’s counting? Certainly not me.
I’m sure there are many groundbreaking ideas that have come from friends enjoying a round or two of cocktails. That’s when guards come down and people start speaking freely. Egos can get added in but generally ideas flow as quickly as the whiskey. Sometimes they…
Wasn’t It Yesterday?
Running a publishing company is as glamorous as you might expect. Today, after I shined my bestselling plaque made of gold and put on my tuxedo short pant suit, I ate a seared baby duck that a man on the Ala Wai Canal caught for me for a few schillings. It tasted like rainbows. After breakfast and overwhelmed by the immensity of my several bank accounts on the islands, I sat back to smoke a cigar made of figs, rolled by only the best Potsman on the island. As I contemplated world domination, something nagged me. There was something I…
My Birthday… A Year in Review
Another year older and hopefully wiser. I don’t feel older and guess I don’t feel thirty-nine; however I’m not sure what it’s “supposed” to feel like so maybe I do after all.
When I was I child, I thought thirty-nine was old. At that age, my father had three children, one of which was leaving for college, one in elementary school and me, one year away from Kindergarten. He was busy; working sixteen hour swing-shifts at B.F. Goodrich and running a busy tax service during tax season. From my viewpoint, he seemed awfully mature.
Of course,…
BE You!!!
“Get in where you fit in!
Stop and Look Up
When I was a child, I remember times when the date was mentioned on TV or I looked at a calendar and would think, “Wow! This day will never happen again.” For some reason, it always astonished me. I often wondered if I was the only one who noticed.
Those memories occurred to me last week as I was walking home from the coffee shop across the street. It was a beautiful sunny day in Waikiki, which has become so “normal” I often take it for granted. I stopped on the sidewalk, looked up at the beautiful blue sky and…
Go For IT!!!
Whatever IT is. I know you have goals, dreams and even a vision (which may be pushed down inside you, but it’s there). There is a process to life. There are ups, downs, flippsy and flopsys, things can be topsy and turvy and then sometimes they are calm. Especially when you are grounded. Is it possible to create the life of your dreams when everything in the world seems to be crazy?
YES!!!
I’ve got evidence!!! I see it everywhere in my life (books, websites, wife, friends, dogs, weather, health, love, etc), even when I’m choosing to look at what’s wrong.…
Bringing it back to WHY?
I’m an entrepreneur. So are many of my friends. I know the challenges that come with starting your own business. Putting it simply, you create a product or service, get through that mess, figure out who’s your market, how to market and pull the trigger. It’s very easy to get lost somewhere along the way and start stressing about the dreaded “hows.” I’m pretty sure that this isn’t only my obstacle.
A friend of mine sent me a text the other day asking for a link to a video I talked about in a meeting a few weeks ago.…
For My Brothers. If…
I’m still taking in everything that was discussed on last week’s podcast. After completing Dr. John Demartini’s “Hierarchy of Values” worksheet, then doing it again on the broadcast, I’ve found myself in the wonderful place of surrender this past week. If you missed last week’s podcast, check it out here: Be About It! Radio Episode 15: This Shit Just Got Real!!! I highly recommend that you fill out the form and get your free worksheet to find out if you’re in alignment with your values. It can change your life!
